OVERVIEW

Amboseli delivers the photograph everybody wants: great herds of elephant crossing dry plains with the snows of Kilimanjaro rising behind them.

The park is also one of the best places in Africa for close encounters with elephants, and the marsh areas attract hippo, buffalo and an enormous variety of birdlife.

From Amboseli you continue into Tsavo West, a very different landscape of lava flows, ancient baobabs and the crystal clear waters of Mzima Springs where you view hippo through an underwater hide from the safety of a glass chamber.
