Nine Things to Check Before You Book an Airport Transfer in Kenya

An airport transfer is a simple thing, which is exactly why it goes wrong so often. Nine details separate a smooth arrival from a stressful one.

1. Is the price per vehicle or per person?

Per vehicle is standard in Kenya and almost always better value for a group. Confirm which one applies before you compare quotes.

2. Does the price include airport parking and waiting time?

Parking at JKIA is charged, and so is waiting. A quote that excludes these can grow by a third at the kerb.

3. Will the driver track your flight?

Any professional operator takes your flight number and monitors it. If you are asked only for a pickup time, delays become your problem.

4. Is the vehicle actually the size you need?

Six passengers plus six large suitcases does not fit in a seven seater van. Send your luggage count along with your passenger count.

5. Who meets you, and where?

Arrivals hall with a name board, or a phone call from the car park? The difference matters enormously at 2am.

6. Do they answer at night?

7. Are child seats available?

They should be, and they should be free. Ask early so the driver can fit them before you land.

8. Is the company insured and licensed?

Ask for the vehicle registration and confirm the operator is a licensed tour and travel company. It takes thirty seconds and protects you completely.

9. Do you have a written confirmation?

A WhatsApp message or email with your reference number, pickup time, meeting point and the agreed price is enough. Never travel on a verbal agreement.
